With a driving time of only 2-1/2 hours from Toronto, we are a great weekend getaway retreat for couples and families. When it comes to Ontario cottage rentals, we offer immaculate facilities in a lakefront setting, which are second to none. Situated within the rugged landscape of the Haliburton Highlands, you can enjoy a wide range of nature based outdoor activities or visit local artists and shops, which have made Haliburton an artistic haven.

Exceptional Cottage Rental Value
Our cottages for rent range from studios to three-bedroom size. All are tastefully decorated, well maintained and come with fully equipped kitchens and TV/video facilities. Most have fireplaces and some have two-person corner Jacuzzi baths. Our three bedroom cottages have spacious decks off the living area while the studio and two-bedroom cottages have covered porches overlooking the lake. With only eight cottages on the 5-acre property, our setting is intimate and quiet. The grounds of the Resort are lovely with gardens and winding pathways throughout.

Variety of On-site Activities in an Intimate Setting
Your hosts are Carol and Bruce McClennan who are most interested in helping you enjoy the diversity that a Haliburton cottage vacation can offer. On-site are canoes, kayaks and paddleboats, all available for the complementary use of our guests. The fishing is great whether it is off our fishing dock or from one of our fishing boat rentals in summer or through the ice from our ice hut in the winter. Our in-ground heated swimming pool is open from May 24th weekend to well into September. There is also direct water access to the Minden Whitewater Preserve, one of the premier whitewater kayaking venues in Canada. In the winter, our floodlit ice skating rink is very popular with couples, families and friends getting together for a winter weekend. Cross-country ski trails adjacent to our property are groomed, trackset and maintained by Haliburton Nordic Trails. We also welcome snowmobilers who have access from Mountain Lake to the 600 km of snowmobile trails maintained by the Haliburton County Snowmobile Association.

Whether it is a romantic couple’s candlelit evening in front of the fire or a family reunion, we can provide the dinner to remember.

Lots of Year-round Activities in the Haliburton Highlands
Located in the heart of the Haliburton Highlands lake district, the possibilities for outdoor adventure are endless. In spring, summer and fall, hiking, mountain biking, ATVing, are all very popular. Nearby Haliburton Forest offers a wide range of adventure activities including the Wolf Centre, ‘A Walk in the Clouds’ treetop canopy tour and a freshwater lake submarine trip. The famous nature preserve, Algonquin Park, also offers a wide variety of nature viewing opportunity through the hiking trails, interpretive centers, canoe centers and programs. Haliburton is also a haven for a wide variety of artists and antique shops. While some studios are open year round, there is a particular focus in early October with the annual Art Studio Tour.

In winter, the Highlands become a playground for fun in the snow.
